Is every Myrtles Bag unique?
Yes - all our handbags are individually handmade so no two are alike.

How do I place an order?
In the first instance contact Jane with an outline of your requirements - see Contact. You are under no obligation until a formal order has been placed, accepted and confirmed. All orders will be confirmed by email. Payment is via PayPal, bank transfer or cheque.

Are my personal details secure?
We take your privacy very seriously. We take only as much information as we need to process your order and for transaction verification purposes. None of your personal information will under any other circumstances be passed on to a third party.

I have some very definite ideas about the handbag I want - can you help?
If you send us sketches, photographs and a description of the handag of your dreams Jane will respond with a design that (hopefully) matches your ideal. The more information you can supply the better - and fabric samples are always useful.
Ultimately the choice of design, style and detailing is yours.

Can you design a handbag for a special occasion to which I have been invited?
Let Jane know the nature of the occasion and she will contact you to discuss the options available. If you already have a costume in mind let Jane know so that she can ensure that the handbag is of a suitable design, material and colour.

Are Myrtles Bags functional as well as aesthetically pleasing?
We regard each creation as a treasured work of art. However, functionality is equally important because a Myrtles Bag is designed to be used. When accepting a commission we ensure that the bag design will fulfil its purpose. The size of a bag, its shape and structure, the choice of material and the provision of pockets and handles are all of paramount importance when we commence drawing up the initial design.

I have seen a handbag on your website - can I buy it?
Most of our handbags are made to a bespoke commission. We do, however, make uncommissioned handbags when time permits and at any one time there may be unsold bags in stock and which are available for sale. If the handbag you desire is not available Jane may be able to create one to a similar - but of course not identical - design.

How can I be certain that my finished Myrtles Bag will meet my expectations?
We provide detailed designs of each handbag (and fabric samples where possible) which form part of the contract agreed between Myrtles Bags and the client. Constant progress reports are emailed to a client, and no variations to the agreed design will be made without a client's approval.

How much will my handbag cost?

At Myrtles Bags the same care and pride is taken in every creation, so the price will reflect not a handbag's purpose but the time taken in manufacture and the cost of the materials used. Jane will from an early stage provide an indication of the likely price of your handbag. A fixed price will be agreed at the time an order is placed. All prices are quoted in £ sterling.

Can my handbag be personalised?
All our products can be personalised provided accurate details are provided at the design stage.

How long will it take to receive my bespoke handbag?
In our initial discussions with you we will indicate a provisional delivery date. When an order is placed we will confirm the delivery date. The timescale varies from project to project.

I need a handbag delivered urgently for a special occasion - can you fulfil the order?
Contact Jane at Myrtles Bags. If at all possible we will make a handbag to your specification and deliver on time. If this is impossible - for whatever reason - we will tell you immediately.

How do I know that my handbag is a Myrtles Bag?
A discreetly embroidered M logo is found in every Myrtles Bag and proof of authenticity can be supplied with a handbag on request.

Do you offer advice about caring for my handbag?
As every bag is unique we do not offer general care advice. We will provide a dustbag where appropriate and are always pleased to offer an opinion (without liability) based upon our experience.

If I am not satisfied with the product can I return it?
Myrtles Bags takes pride in our products and endeavours to attain 100% customer satisfaction. In the (unlikely) event that you are not satisfied our returns policy is fully explained in our Terms and Conditions.

Do you make anything besides handbags?
Jane is an experienced dressmaker. If you want a dress or costume for a special occasion - or a complete outfit - contact Jane to discuss your requirements.

Will I be responsible for delivery charges?
No - the agreed price is inclusive of all charges. Each handbag is beautifully boxed, packed and dispatched by secure delivery at no additional cost to the client. If the handbag is a gift to be delivered to a different address then a personal message can be included at no charge.

Do you accept international orders?
We have made handbags for clients in North America and Australasia as well as Europe. The country of delivery may levy an import duty, payment of which will be the responsibility of the client.

Can you keep me updated about developments at Myrtles Bags?
We are on Facebook and Twitter, and our blog will be regularly updated. We are also intending to publish a quarterly newsletter which will be sent to all clients and friends.
